Crochet Queen

Writer's picture: Jackie GieringJackie Giering

Hi everyone

I'm excited to be sharing my second DT page for Twilight Crafts.

This week I chose to use the 'Crochet Queen' cut file as I've wanted to document these pictures for a while. They are items my daughter crocheted as a commission for someone.

I Have to say the colour palette was a bit out of my comfort zone but I wanted something that tied in with the pictures. Keeping in some brown and rust colours. I used a mix of stash from Maggie Holmes to My Minds Eye.

I started by creating my own chevron stencil and using some of my Tim Holtz inks to give the background bit of interest.

Then double matted my pictures and layered so paper in the back ground on top of the stenciling. I cut a yarn ball on my cricut, backed it and then placed it behind the Q of the of the cut file title.

I then used some word strips, some Doodlebug puffy hearts and a Flair Hut chevron flair to embellish the page. Keeping it fairly simple but balanced. Finishing off with a little hand stitching in the corner of the card.
