12 Days of Christmas Cyber Crop

Merry Christmas Twilighters, from Faye and Debbie! As we write, the 12 Days of Christmas cyber crop has totally exceeded our expectations! What started as a small idea to bring some festive crafting fun, soon grew into a 12 day extravaganza of online classes, virtual scrapalongs and daily challenges... and what's more, the challenges remain open until 31st December with the chance to win some wonderful crafting prizes! Don't forget to upload your completed projects to the challenges albums to be in a with a chance of winning! We've made a Facebook post with all the challenges listed and a handy PDF file for you to check off the challenges as you go. You can also watch all the lives here.

We were joined by friends from the crafting community to make the event varied and full of inspiration. Each day, members of the Design Team and other crafting businesses shared challenges to encourage us to dig deep into our stash and think outside the box. Whether this was using up old stash that hasn't seen the light of day for many years, or reaching for the mixed media stash... we all had so many ideas to turn into scrapbook pages and other crafting projects.

The timetable of events kept us all on our toes! What we've also reflected on, is how it connects us all, far and wide... our group has grown from just over 100 members to over 800 in just a few months and we have crafting friends all over the world as part of our Facebook group. We are eternally grateful for your support. Our online shop went live in June 2021 and is going from strength to strength because of your support. We can't thank you enough!

On Saturday 10th December, we were also thrilled to be able to host our 'in person' crop in Bristol. Last year, this couldn't go ahead due to COVID restrictions, but this year, with a trusty risk assessment in place to keep us all safe, we enjoyed a whole day of crafting, eating and chatting. Debbie and I always have an annual photograph together - a great one to scrapbook!

We were in awe of the mixed media techniques with Kate Crane, showing us how to use the gelli plate with style! Who knew that alcohol inks (which we've owned for years) would make such cool prints on the gelli plate, with a dab of acrylic paint?! Kate's super cute stamps made the perfect addition to the little bag, table place card and card.

We had our skills of measuring and folding tested with the most beautiful mini book with Cal Summers from Paper, Scissors, Story. So many flaps and pocket and we needed to have our boner (bone folder!) at the ready for this project!

The challenges have kept the creativity flowing and we have been amazed at all the wonderful entries being uploaded to the albums.

We thoroughly enjoyed the live scrapalongs from Scrappy Adam, from Dotty About Flair, MK Gunn from Some Assemblage Required and Carly from Poppy's Crafty Owl. Not to mention all our other crafting friends who joined us for lives

Here are the 12 challenges - every challenger went above and beyond in their planning, creating fab samples to help us along the way.

From mixed media to scrappy Christmas recipes... from sketch challenges to digging out that old stash. We have enough inspiration to last us into the new year. Now just to find some time to craft in between all the family fun!

How many challenges have you managed to complete? I have only done 5 so far, but I hope to get more done over the next week!

We have a selection of Christmas stash on the website and a huge delivery arriving in early January... ready for us to purge any Christmas money on! Our wide range of papers and embellishments are in store and we will be open during the Christmas holidays (but delivery may be slightly delayed due to Royal Mail!) We also have a wide selection of Christmas Jennwren Cutfiles to choose from. Wishing all our customers and crafting friends a wonderful, restful Christmas, with lots of crafting time.
